Arts Drive In, Chicago

These are some photographs from a long series of Hot Dog Stands taken mostly in Chicago, but from everywhere. Hot dogs are one or the few fast foods that have not been franchised to death. Because of that, the buildings are often creative expressions of the owners, who use a lot of hand painted graphics. There are over 2,000 hot dog stands in Chicago, and they change quite a bit. The hot dog above is garnished Chicago style: hot dog, bun, mustard, relish, onions, pickle, tomatoes, hot peppers, but no ketchup. Delicious!
